Deputy President William Ruto acknowledged on Thursday having a child out of wedlock with a woman who filed a case in court claiming that Ruto has failed to take parental responsibility.
“My 11 year old child Abby is well catered for including her education in private boarding school. Politicians& Busybodies should keep off,” saidRuto on his Tweeter page.
Through lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, the mother accuses Mr Ruto of refusing to provide them with essential needs like food, decent clothing and a home. Ruto is accused of refusing to pay school fees and medication for his child.
What the Child Needs
The mother claims in the case documents that their child is now bound to miss out on healthy growth and quality education. The mother wants her case to be certified urgent since her daughter will continue to suffer irreparably.
The mother is seeking about Sh180,000 in monthly support for food, shelter, clothing, toiletries and house help alone, as well as adequate medical cover and school fees.
Dp Ruto is married to Rachael Ruto and they have six children, including an adopted daughter.
